ABOUT PU’ER

Pu’er (or Pu-erh)  is a type of fermented dark tea produced in Yunnan province, famous worldwide for its taste complexity and potential health benefits.

This mature tea is even used as a medicine in some countries. But instead of mirroring the bitter taste of most medicines, the taste of Pu’er is better likened to a deep breath of fresh air in a springtime pine forest, after heavy rain.

Origin: Simao, Yunnan
Aroma: Honey and young sprouts
Colour: Light yellow

]]>
One of Simao area’s speciality teas, Yue Guang Bai (Moonlight Beauty) is a white tea from Yunnan. Its naming comes from unconventional harvesting and manufacturing timings, which must be done at night under the moonlight. The slow drying process under the gentle moonlight creates a light tea with subtle notes of honey and young sprouts.

Brewing this tea at different water temperatures creates entirely different experiences.
With 85°C water, the tea exhibits the previously mentioned subtle notes of honey and young sprouts.
With 100°C water, the tea transforms into a medium-bodied tea with strong honey notes, similar to that of black tea.
